Regardless
of the diagnosis, you have control over your illness. We
can guide you through the many options you have for addressing your condition, providing both pharmacological and
therapeutic resources to manage symptoms.
My name is Alexander Trost, and I am a fellowship-trained Palliative Medicine Nurse Practitioner specializing in advanced illness symptom management and goals-of-care discussions. I have been practicing Palliative Medicine for over a decade now. Prior to this, I worked as an emergency room nurse. I switched to Palliative Medicine due to a significant loss in my family. At that time, we were never offered the palliative care needed to lessen the trauma of a loved one’s final moments. That inspired me to learn the tools of relief that palliative medicine offers so that no one else has to endure the failures of care my family did. I am eager to use my knowledge and experience to help you to the best of my ability.
In short, I like to call it supportive medicine. It is a subspecialty of medicine that supports people from the initial diagnosis to end-of-life care. It allows for communication between multiple disciplines and explains things in regular language for the patient. We also specialize in symptom management.
If you were diagnosed with a life-limiting illness that burdens you with numerous symptoms, we offer relief through care provided in the comfort of your own home. With years of medical experience in both hospital and domiciliary care, we are well-equipped to assess your current treatment program and, if necessary, compose a better one that is more suited to your desired lifestyle.
Unlike an office, we come to you! All of our care happens in your home, where we are able to tailor any needed medical equipment, routines, and care to your living space. We also hold as a core tenet the fact that all patients are unique, and require individualized care. Because of this, we invite you to reach out to us so we can begin creating a plan that centers around your specific experience.
